  • It is said to be the Filipino version of key lime pie, using the juice of the Philippine citrus fruit to strike the perfect balance between sweet and tangy.
  • The pie tastes especially good when frozen, which is how Lorenzo recommends it to be enjoyed.

  • This is a well-loved dessert in Amy Besa and Romy Doorman’s Purple Yam Restaurant in New York.

  • Along with egg tarts, crispy buns, egg waffles and butterfly crackers, his shop carries intricate and elegant cakes, in which the calamansi creation is a part of.
